We sometimes wonder and begin to ask ourselves does God exist. This may be due to the simple fact that we’ve not seen God before thus making the believe in him quite difficult in accomplishing. Unlike most people, Christians are more subject to believing the existence of God owing to the faith being followed. It is of great adherence to the faith which employs all and sundry to believe in the creator as well as his works.
The existence of God cannot be proven or disproved. There have arisen both biblical and logical arguments backing the true existence of God. We are going to delve into both aspects of the arguments to get you all better informed about what is and what’s not.
DOES GOD EXIST? – THE BIBLES POINT OF VIEW
The bible clearly states in its works the acceptance of the existence of God by faith. In Hebrews 11:6, we get an inference from the bible stating the importance of faith in accepting that God does exist. Anyone who comes to him must believe that he is real and rewards given earnestly to those who seek him. Even though one may doubt in his heart of all these, Jesus once said in his words to his disciples that, “because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”….. (John 20:29). this is to prove to all those who have doubts within them of his true existence and to have that believe that he, God, even though is invisible exists and lives with us. One may not necessarily need to see him before having to believe he’s real but by just having that genuine and undoubted faith within ourselves encompasses the believe and virtue of being hopeful Christians. As Christians, we know God is real because we speak to him every day. We do not hear him speak back at us but we are able to sense and feel his presence in our lives. We feel his leading and we feel his love abounding in us. That’s a definite assurance that he truly exists. What can be more evidencing that this?
Does God Exist? Teleological Point of View
As an additive to the biblical arguments for Gods existence, there do exist other forms of arguments proving the reality of God. Firstly, we have the likes of the teleological argument which states that owing to the fact that the universe portrays such an amazing design, there must have been a unique and divine sculptor. Take into consideration the fact that…. what if the earth was not to be purposely designed by someone and were to be hidden further away from the sun, would it have been capable of supporting much of the life it currently has in it? If the elements existing in this particular atmosphere of ours were to be a little bit proportionate in point’s difference, nearly every living thing that ever walked the earth surface would perish! All these, factor into the argument for believing that there do exist a God.
Does God Exist? The Cosmological Point of View
A second argument which is logical for the existence of God is called the Cosmological argument. There must be something existing that caused everything to come into existence, and this argument is based on the fact that “something” is directly linking it to God. Every effect definitely has a cause. The universe including everything in it is an effect. What causes this effect to come into being? Obviously, there must be something “uncaused” in order to cause everything else to come into existence. And that “uncaused” factor is GOD!
Does God Exist? The Moral Point of View
A third argument is known as the moral argument. This argument bases it’s prove of the existence of God on the fact of the existence of morality and all actions standing for what’s right, thus rejecting that which is negative. Almost every culture throughout history has had some form of law guarding against what’s right and wrong. Everybody has that innate sense of reasoning in discerning for what action is really right or wrong and needs to be practiced or abolished in effect. Examples of such acts being; lying, cheating, stealing, murdering, immorality among other acts, is universally unacceptable as we all can verify and attest to in our diverse cultures and background. One would ask where this sense of knowing that which is right and wrong stems from. It couldn’t have come from anyone else if not from a holy God. God created us and as such had the power of instilling in us all these positive and Godly morals which we have no power or control over. We practice it in our daily lives, yet still claim there is no God? There should be something wrong then if you ask me.
In conclusion, I’ll say that people claim to reject Gods existence because it is mostly said to be “non Scientific” or lacks enough basic and visual proof. But is that the real reason why they choose not to believe? Or do they just hide behind all these facts knowing fully well that if they are to accept and admit that there is indeed a God, they’d have to submit to his will and acknowledge his existence as well as seeking forgiveness from him? If God does exist, that goes to show that we are accountable to him for all that we do….., our actions and inactions combined. If he does not exist, then we might as well do whatever we want and like without having to worry about being judged by him. This is the reason behind many people choosing to deny in his existence and hold on firmly and solidly to the theory of evolution the natural way or through circumstances of nature. It gives them some form of alternative in believing in the existence of “a Creator”, but it’s just not God. God does exist and ultimately everybody shares in that existence. No matter the faith we all hold differently, God in his own infinite wisdom and mercy created and gave us all life. That we exist and are alive is no mere coincidence or mistake. It’s been designed…our existence was pre-born by God and his creation of the world goes to fully batter all these. You may choose to believe in him or not, but that does not change the fact that he’s alive and he reigns here on earth.
